I'm the owner of Austin Small Business Growth Bookkeeping! I'm an Independent Bookkeeper and Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor specializing in offering virtual bookkeeping and QuickBooks services to Small Business Owners, Self Employed Individuals, Freelancers, and Independent Contractors of Austin, TX using QuickBooks Online accounting software. Let's be honest accounting has never been a fascinating subject for most business owners and probably never will be. On the other hand, having at least a basic understanding of accounting and/or having a bookkeeper interpret your accounting in a way that's easily understood for you will help you gain insight into how your small business is performing and will serve as guidance for growing your small business.
What inspired me to get into accounting? What inspired me to get into accounting was buying my first car without completely understanding the total cost of the car. I was so excited to be driving a red 2014 Chevy Cruze LTZ as my first car and thought I got a great deal for it but I later discovered I was obligated to pay more than what I had expected after factoring in interest, taxes, and other fees which I had no idea about at the time. Immediately at that moment, I knew I wanted to learn about accounting/finance to empower myself to make wiser financial decisions. Therefore, I chose to major in accounting in college. After excelling in my college accounting courses, I decided to pursue a career in accounting.
What's my story? I grew up as a military child where I had the opportunity to live in different places such as Georgia, Kansas, Washington, Germany, and different areas in Texas. Being a military child taught me how to make new friends, learn new things, and keep an open mind because I had to move around a lot. As a two-sport athlete playing high school football and soccer, I graduated from Judson High School in Converse, TX in May of 2015 and immediately started taking classes at Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX the following summer after graduation. During my time at Angelo State University, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to learn about accounting in class and gain applicable public accounting work experience outside of class while going to school. I graduated from Angelo State University in May of 2019 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting. My professional background involves working for a public accounting firm, county auditor's department, and a private company where I have gained extensive experience in bookkeeping, accounting, financial statement audits, and 1040 tax return preparation which has made me the accounting professional I am today.
How did I start my business? After working full-time office jobs in accounting, I realized the office work environment isn't for me. Therefore, I decided to pursue working independently helping local small businesses around me grow financially. To get started, I chose QuickBooks Online as my accounting software specialization and passed my exam to become a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor in April of 2020. Despite having many obstacles during the COVID-19 pandemic I officially formed my business in July of 2020 and haven't looked back since.
What do I love about Austin? I have always loved the good vibes, friendly people, fun events, parks, diverse food options, and great atmosphere that the city of Austin has to offer.
What are my interests? I'm interested in growth and self-improvement to empower myself and others to become the best person we can be professionally and personally. For fun, I use my free time to hang out with friends, travel, go hiking, attend festivals and concerts, go to bars and clubs for the nightlife, and read. A current book that I am reading is The Definitive Book of Body Language by Allan Pease and Barbara Pease!

My goal as an Independent Bookkeeper and Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor is to prepare accurate books to hand off to CPAs to file your business taxes on time, help you easily understand the financial performance of your small business efforts, deliver expert financial advice to help you make wise business decisions leading to business growth, and advise you on QuickBooks tools and features to make complicated tasks of running your business effortless!
As a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor, I am a QuickBooks-certified independent accounting pro who can provide strategic insights to drive small business growth. Also, whether your small business is handling your bookkeeping duties in-house or outsourcing your bookkeeping to me I'm available to answer questions you have and find solutions to problems relating to QuickBooks Online software.
